From the closet: Corduroy & Silk

I don't really see myself becoming a style blog or fashion blog (way too much pressure for a gal who will probably be buried in blue jeans), but there are some clothing pieces that I'd like sharing.  The pieces that have stories or wonderful connections.  I wanted to share these great clothing finds because they were so quintessentially Bigbad & Smallgood.  We wore them to cousin K's wedding in Charleston.  I think we were smashing...and if not smashing, plenty adorable.

Bigbad, who pretty much agrees to shopping just to appease me, found this gray corduroy jacket on his own at the Goodwill.  Best $6 he ever spent I think.  We're huge corduroy fans!1111!  Finding something wonderful at the thrift shop is a huge triumph.  I am always delighted to find something charming and spot-on for my style or character that will now be loved in our closet and wardrobe.  This jacket makes me want to buy Bigbad a pipe or a leather sofa for a library.  He is transformed into the professor when he wears it.

My dress is designed by Esley and came from Lara's Closet that I discovered while shopping in LA.  I was drawn to the colors (love that purple and gray) and loved the cut (so flattering and comfortable).  Just some serious love.  Only thing is, I wish the dang thing weren't silk.  It will be a bear to clean.  I like that I have the memories of California attached to this dress, it makes me cheerful to think of that happy trip when I wear it.

I link up to these parties.

I'm libel to put some patches on the thing myself! It does, however, have shoulder pads, which makes it wicked cool.
